About Rachel:
Rachel is a registered psychologist in Alberta and transitioning to also register in B.C.
Her formal training was completed at UBC in School and Child Psychology.
At Fairfield Psychology, she can offer psychoeducational assessments for learning disabilities, ADHD, intellectual disabilities, and anxiety disorders.
Ensuring the comfort of children (or young adults) is the primary focus of hers when engaging in the assessment process.
She understands that navigating the ‘system’ can be overwhelming and intimidating, so providing a safe place to land is her core focus.
Rachel also offers counselling services for children ages 7+ and adults. With a child psychology background, she practices with an attachment focused lens and works toward processing patterns that have been conditioned early on.
Rachel has currently taken an interest in somatic-focused therapy. This will help guide processing work in the body and expand our tolerance with those less-comfy emotions.
Overall, building a strong and trusting therapeutic relationship is Rachel’s primary focus, while also being able to lighten the mood with a shared sense of humour.
