About Ella:
I am a Registered Social Worker with a Master’s degree in Social Work.
My path to counselling has been shaped by years of experience working in hospital, community mental health, harm reduction, hospice, and private practice settings across British Columbia.
I have experience supporting adults and youth navigating:
Depression
Anxiety
Substance use and addiction
Trauma
Suicide attempts and crisis
Difficult life transitions
Grief, palliative, and end-of-life care
Caregiver stress
I have worked extensively with individuals experiencing complex mental health and substance use challenges, including members of the Canadian Armed Forces, structurally vulnerable populations, and individuals navigating acute medical and psychiatric crises.
My approach to counselling is collaborative, strengths-based, and trauma-informed.
I aim to create a space that feels grounded, compassionate, and non-judgmental, where we can explore what is bringing you in and work toward meaningful, sustainable change.
My interests and experience have led me to pursue additional training and practice in areas such as:
Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)
Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT)
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)
Solution-Focused Therapy (SFT)
Motivational Interviewing (MI)
I am committed to providing culturally sensitive care to Black, Indigenous, and People of Colour (BIPOC) communities, as well as inclusive and affirming support to LGBTQIA+ individuals.
I strive to create a space that is non-judgmental, compassionate, and grounded in social justice.
Whether you are feeling overwhelmed, navigating a major life transition, struggling with substance use, or working through past trauma, I aim to provide a steady and supportive space where we can explore what is keeping you stuck and move toward meaningful and sustainable change—together.
